Understanding Financial Markets Through Data

We teach people how to read industry trends, interpret market movements, and build analytical frameworks. Our programs focus on practical research methods that professionals actually use when evaluating sectors and companies.

Most students come from business backgrounds but want stronger quantitative skills. Some work in corporate strategy. Others are looking to shift into research roles. And there's always a handful who just want to understand their own investment decisions better.

What You'll Actually Learn

Our curriculum focuses on three core areas that matter in real-world financial analysis. We don't promise instant expertise, but students typically develop solid foundational skills over six to twelve months.

Industry Research Methods

Learn how to evaluate competitive dynamics, regulatory environments, and supply chain structures. We use current case studies from mining, healthcare, and technology sectors throughout 2025.

Financial Statement Analysis

Break down balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports. You'll practice identifying red flags and understanding what different metrics reveal about business health.

Market Context Understanding

Connect company performance to broader economic patterns. We examine how interest rates, commodity prices, and policy changes ripple through different industries.

Program Structure

Our next cohort begins August 2026. The program runs for nine months with evening sessions designed for working professionals. Here's how it typically unfolds.

1

Foundations Phase

Two months covering accounting principles, financial metrics, and research frameworks. This part moves quickly but we provide extra support sessions for those who need them.

2

Sector Deep Dives

Four months analyzing specific industries. Each student picks two sectors to study intensively while following broader market developments. Past groups have examined energy transitions, retail disruption, and infrastructure investment.

3

Applied Projects

Three months developing your own research report. You'll present findings to the group and receive feedback from instructors who've worked in equity research and corporate finance.

4

Portfolio Integration

Final month focuses on communicating your analysis effectively and building a body of work. Many students use these projects when applying for analyst positions or internal transfers.

Where Students Go Next

Outcomes vary based on prior experience and career goals. We track what happens after graduation and most people report the skills proved useful in their work.

From Operations to Strategy

Thea Koskinen managed logistics for a manufacturing company but wanted to contribute to strategic planning. After completing the program in 2024, she started preparing sector briefings for executive meetings. By mid-2025, she'd moved into a business development role where she evaluates potential partnerships.

Building Investment Confidence

Barnaby Travers ran a small consultancy and managed his own investments but felt he was guessing more than analyzing. The program gave him frameworks for evaluating companies beyond headline news. He now spends less time second-guessing decisions and more time understanding why businesses succeed or struggle.
